Nibedita Dash ,PhD
Clean Transportation Specialist

Nibedita comes with over seven years of experience in advancing sustainable and data-driven mobility solutions. With a PhD in Sustainable Transportation from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, she brings deep expertise mobility, urban transport systems, decarbonization and vehicle electrification

In her previous roles Nibedita has led and supported projects across the entire transportation ecosystem—from designing parking and fleet management solutions at Bosch, to working with government stakeholders on electric vehicle adoption, incentive structuring, and infrastructure planning at the International Council on Clean Transportation. Her experience also includes working on the cost economics of battery swapping in electric two wheelers, non-fiscal policies that aid vehicle electrification and evaluating charging requirements for electric vehicles at the state level. Additionally, she has also worked on simulation modeling of urban traffic and rural road safety assessments in the Asia-Pacific region for Asian Development Bank, and mobility systems benchmarking for Indian cities. Nibedita has authored multiple publications on sustainable transportation, electric vehicle policy, urban efficiency, and mode-shift interventions and has also successfully completed a training on power-to-X of green hydrogen.

At NRDC India, Nibedita is working on the techno-feasibility of electric tractors and exploring sustainable battery reuse. Her work combines rigorous research with policy impact, grounded in her capabilities in system dynamics, data analytics, and spatial modeling.
