Sandeep is a medical doctor with an MD in Community Medicine from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He brings over 7.5 years of experience in public health, with specialized expertise at the climate–environment–health systems interface. His work has focused on air pollution, extreme weather events including heat, and toxic chemical exposures, particularly in children’s environmental health.
Most recently, Sandeep has been leading national-level initiatives with UNICEF India, expanding the Healthy Environment for Healthy Children programme and strengthening health systems for climate-sensitive diseases and chemical exposures. He has collaborated with government agencies, UN partners, academic institutions, and funding agencies to design monitoring frameworks, build capacity among health professionals, and advance evidence-based policy solutions.
